Jordan grew up always wanting to be a race car driver. When the
opportunity to drive presented itself to the third generation racer, he
jumped right at it. Jordan started his racing career at the Waterford
Speedbowl in Connecticut, a track where his family’s tradition of
winning still holds true to this day.
From welding, bending, and notching pipes to flanging and riveting sheet metal, Jordan was taught at a young age that you have to be able to build, repair, and improve what you race. He gained first-hand experience while working on his uncle's race cars throughout his youth and teenage years. He was instilled with knowledge of chassis setup and taught proper car maintenance and assembly by his father, Patrick. The combination of first-hand experience and well-rounded teaching allowed Jordan to build the foundation to becoming a knowledgeable and successful racer.
Jordan raced in the Mini Stock division from 2002 to 2004 at the Speedbowl, winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2002. In 2003, he finished the season in second place in the final points standings. Again in 2004, in just his third year racing, Jordan finished second overall with five feature wins, 15 top-fives and 20 top-tens in 24 starts.
In 2006, Jordan raced a Late Model at the Waterford Speedbowl and became the first rookie in the division’s 35-year history to win the track championship. He won seven races, had 14 top-five finishes and 16 top-ten finishes in 19 races. He won Rookie of the Year honors by default.
In 2007, Jordan and his race team raced a scaled-back schedule. Jordan won five races at Waterford, making 17 of a potential 24 starts.
In 2008, Jordan won three races at Waterford, finishing second in the overall Late Model points standings. The team earned 16 top-five finishes and 19 top-ten finishes in 20 events.
In 2009, Jordan again ran a part-time schedule. Jordan won 25% of the races he entered at Waterford Speedbowl, winning three times. In his 12 starts, he finished with eight top-fives and nine top-tens. Jordan also had a strong top-three run in his only ACT race of the season at Waterford Speedbowl. He was rescored fifth after finishing second on a wild, confusing last lap yellow flag. He was also invited to compete in the inaugural ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September, where some of the Northeast's and Canada's best 36 Late Model drivers were chosen to compete.
Professionally, Jordan holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Art. He is a high school teacher. He also teaches as adjunct faculty at a local college. When he is not working during the day, he can be found at the race shop prepping the race car for the upcoming Saturday. In his free time, Jordan enjoys studying auto racing vehicle dynamics, as well as turning laps on racing simulation software and designing.
