JORDAN READY FOR EXTRA DISTANCE RACE ON THE 4TH OF JULY
WATERFORD - Tim Jordan is looking forward to Saturday night's PEPSI 300, a tradition at the Waterford Speedbowl, which has a 100-lap Late Model event slated.
Last week, the Plainfield driver finished second in the 30-lap event to Bruce Thomas, Jr.
"Second is okay sometimes, but I need to just trust myself a bit more. I am easily talked out of making chassis adjustments, particularly when the car is fast like it was during the day, but that's what bit us last week in the feature. I wanted to make a change and did the old 'it'll be good in the feature' talk to myself. As soon as I got to second and after all those caution periods put heat cycles on the tires, I knew I should have made the change. The car was off that tiny tick, but hindsight is 20/20. All I can do is take that experience into this weekend and do whatever the car needs to be good for 100 laps," Jordan said.
The finish was Jordan's fifth event of 2009. Jordan was caught up in accidents in three of the five races so far. In the races Jordan has finished, he was a win and a second.
Time trials start at 5pm and features begin roughly at 7pm. For more information, visit the new www.speedbowl.com.
